Ministry
This will vary according to your gifts.
- Outreach to children
- Develop a new group for teenagers
- Develop a social media strategy for the church’s communication and outreach
- Serve a Roma community in the mountains
Elements of study: Ongoing education is built into this gap year program. In addition to the study field trip to Greece, there are nine books that you will read and report on throughout the year. The topics range from Bulgarian life and culture to cross-cultural missions.
Requirements for participation: This program is available to young adults aged 18+ and who are recommended by their pastor.
Costs
Costs are approximate.
- Startup cost: $4,500 to $5,000, depending on team size. Includes:
- Pre-assignment training
- Round-trip flight to Bulgaria
- Bulgarian visa
- Health insurance for the duration of the trip
- Intensive language school tuition
- One-time costs to settle into life in Bulgaria (such as an apartment deposit and household items)
- Travel, food and accommodation for outreach trip to Turkey
- Monthly cost: $1,500 to $1,600, depending on accommodation. Includes:
- Apartment rent and utilities
- Ongoing language lessons
- Daily living costs (such as groceries, eating out, public transportation, phone, internet, and tithe)
- Travel, food and accommodation for study week in Greece
