“Don’t forget to water my flowers” she said as she gave her husband a big hug upon leaving the house for an extended time. When she returned, she found the house plants all very well taken care of, including the artificial orchid he had since placed in the sink, because it was leaking water all over the place every time he watered it. He had faithfully watered each plant in the house for the full six weeks she was gone. When she told us the story, we all rolled with laughter, including her husband. What a picture of faithfulness.
The writer of Hebrews encourages us to not waver in our faith in Chapter 10:23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. (NKJV) While her husband proved to faithfully carry out his wife’s desire by watering “every plant” in their house, we can rest assured that Jesus is even more faithful to carry out all that He has promised us He will do. And that is no laughing matter, but one I can stand on without wavering. He is faithful, which really strengthens my faith. Be strong and steadfast toward Him as He is totally faithful to you.
