April 1st. The one day of the year where you need to really be on guard. It is on this day that around the world people try and pull jokes on others and sometimes cruel jokes at that. But the cruelest of all jokesters is the devil himself when he tricks people into thinking that they are eternally secure without having Jesus as Lord of their lives.
Paul referring to Jesus, plainly declares in Acts 4:12 Salvation comes no other way; no other name has been or will be given to us by which we can be saved, only this one.” (MSG) Nothing is more serious in life than our eternal salvation.
So be cautious today as there may be people who will put tricks in your path but be even more cautious of the devil. Yes, he is the mastermind jokester and he works his evilness every day he can in every way he can. Which is why Peter tells us in 1 Peter 5:8-9a Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. 9 Stand firm against him, and be strong in your faith…. (NKJ)
So guard yourself against his devises, not just April 1st, but every day and may your response to all of his tricks and schemes be, Jesus is Lord!
