“You have been unseated!”

We had our first of four USA Regional Gatherings this past weekend in Marysville, OH. I received an email late Sat night for automatic check-in on my Sunday flight home, saying that they couldn’t issue my boarding passes online and that I needed to complete check in at the airport. Knowing something was amiss, I immediately called the Premier line for the airline I was flying. My suspicion was correct. Sir, you have been unseated! That means that they had taken Bonnie and I off the plane. There was a college football game on Sat and all outbound flights were filled to capacity.

Praise God for Alberta, my advocate on the on the end of the line. She asked me to hold for a minute while she checked things out. It took her 10 min, and I was beginning to wonder if she had forgotten about me. Not only was I unseated but now maybe even forgotten. Finally she came back on the line and said, I took care of you sir, You are now on the plane again!

I think many times the devil is trying to unseat me in my relationship with Jesus and my place in eternity with Him. Rev 12:10 speaks of the accuser who is before the throne day and night trying to unseat us. While I was grateful for my advocate Alberta, I am even more eternally grateful for my advocate Jesus! Because of Him I can never be unseated in my reservation for eternity in Heaven. I am reminded of Paul stating in Romans 8:38-39, “And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. 39 No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

So while I may be unseated, lose my place, taken out of the lineup, in many things on earth, one thing I can be confident of is that I will never be unseated from my place with the Lord for all eternity. That reservation was paid for in blood!
