I’ve been listening to a teaching series on “The Kingdom” by Tony Fitzgerald. ( great series, I recommend them) He shared an interesting quote from William Booth, founder of the Salvation Army. Over 100 years ago he made this observation concerning the 21st Century.

He said, “The chief danger of the 21st century will be, religion without the Holy Ghost, Christianity without Christ, forgiveness without repentance, salvation without regeneration, politics without God, and Heaven without Hell. We must get hold of the message of The Kingdom.”

Interesting prophetic insight into the day in which we live, where so much is based on “political correctness” and the fear of offending people. Where the fear of the Lord fails to have the impact in people’s lives it once did and has given a license for many to live their lives as they desire vs. in a holy fear of a Holy God who loves us and wants the best for us.

I am certainly not in agreement in offending people, but neither am I wanting to embrace compromise for the sake of acceptance. Paul says it this way in Col 1:28-29

28 So we tell others about Christ, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all the wisdom God has given us. We want to present them to God, perfect in their relationship to Christ. 29 That’s why I work and struggle so hard, depending on Christ’s mighty power that works within me. NLT

May His mighty power work in you so that you not only present yourself perfect in your relationship with Christ, but also those to whom you are giving of yourself unselfishly. May His grace, love, and peace empower you as you share His Kingdom with those around you. And may your work be fruitful and full of abundant life.
