We do what we do largely because of our core beliefs that we subscribe to. I have found it is extremely hard to change my actions until I change my core belief about something. Until someone changes their core belief that “exercise” is an extremely important activity, they will find it hard to work it into their busy schedule. If we try and do so without changing our core beliefs, it is really behavior modification verse real change as we are trying to implement it as a great idea.

But, if they have experienced a life-threatening situation and the healthiest thing they can do is to exercise, suddenly exercising regularly easily becomes a way of life for them. It is because their core belief changed in regarding to the benefits of exercise. I have seen this happen in many situations where things stay the same until core beliefs change.

Truth telling is the art of being bluntly honest with yourself. The reason that you are doing what you wish you weren’t doing is in reality, because at your core you don’t believe it is extremely important to change, and you are trying to modify your behavior verse change your core belief.

When it comes to my mistakes, failures, and shortcomings, I need to go deeper. I cannot settle for the first reason that pops into my head as to why it is hard for me to change. A businessman told me one time you need to ask the “why question” up to seven times to get to the deeper motivation/reason for a behavior or lack thereof.  When I get to that level of truth, I can bring His truth to bare, and my core belief will change because I am confronted with real truth. Changing my core belief will bring lasting change in actions for my life.

Let’s not settle for just modifying our behavior, let’s go for real lasting change. It’s time?

Just a reminder, You are on the victory side!!!
