The call on the life of Jesus was to help others. Dale Mast writes, “Jesus did not leave heaven to help himself, but to help us.” In the same way the call that the Lord has on your life is not primarily for you, it is for others. It is for their gain, not your gain, the betterment of their future. Jesus is by nature a servant and He looks for those who have a servant’s heart willing to invest in the heart and lives of others. Understand as you fulfill your call, there is gain for you but that is a by-product, not a main focus!
