Time! We all have an unlimited supply as long as the Lord gives us breath. There is no such thing as “I didn’t have the time to……” You had the time. In fact you have 24 hours new and fresh coming at you tomorrow. So the issue isn’t that you didn’t or don’t have the time. The reality is that you didn’t think it was important enough to do it. Something else had more priority or was deemed more important. And there is nothing wrong with that. The problem lies in your own mislabeling of a lack of priority characterized as a lack of time. Not having the time lets us off the hook. It communicates to our inner self that I am doing good, I just don’t have the time to do all that I want to do. A line of thought  that carries more integrity and is possibly more brutal but much more helpful in developing healthy priorities in life is I do not see the importance in doing that right now.

Better to make the clear call as it will help to set priorities in life. See, I can say I don’t have time for a date night this month. It communicates I want to but I have too many life pressures on me. In reality, I have the time but I don’t think it is important enough to carve out the time to do so. Still not convinced? When is the last time you didn’t brush your teeth in the morning cause you didn’t have the time? Didn’t eat for three days because of your schedule? Didn’t take time to shower cause there was one meeting after another that week?

Stop selling yourself a cheap narrative and call it what it is. It just wasn’t important enough! When you call it what it is, the reality hits hard, especially when it is something that should be a priority. And when that reality hits, it will cause you to re-evaluate and bring about change. Go ahead, you have the time to re-prioritize things. Truth is much better than a false narrative.
