We just celebrated Memorial Day were we remember all those who have given their all for the sake of our country. We are forever indebted to every person who has served or is currently serving in the military. And if you are one of them, thank you!! Mere words cannot express the debt of gratitude that I have toward you. Join me in praying for the safety of all of our armed forces as they put themselves in harm’s way for our protection and well being.
The Holy Spirit has spoken to me so many times while watching war movies or while reading articles, books, and commentaries from the battlefield. The heart of a warrior is such an intriguing thing and important for each of us to consider. While the Bible tells us in Eph 6:12 that we are not in a battle with flesh and blood, it does clearly state that we are in a battle. “12 For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.” (NLT) And if we are engaged in a fight, it is best we engage with the heart of a warrior.
So, two questions for you to consider, 1) Are you engaged in the fight Paul speaks of in Eph 6? And 2) Are you engaging with the heart of a warrior. Ex 15:3 says “The Lord is a man of war; The Lord is His name.” and in Isa 42:13 “The Lord will march forth like a mighty hero; he will come out like a warrior, full of fury. He will shout his battle cry and crush all his enemies.”
So while we are so grateful for all of the men and women in the armed forces, don’t forget to especially thank the Lord tonight, because He fights for you! And there is no greater warrior then He!
