Everything is framed in perspective! I was driving down the road a saw a young men standing beside his car talking on his cell phone. He was staring at his flat front tire. Thinking he probably didn’t have a clue on what to do, I swung my truck around and pulled in beside him and said, “You got this or would you like some help?” With a look of both surprise and relief, he responded, “Can you help me?” “Sure!”, I replied. I then asked, “Would you like me to do it for you or would you like me to train you?” “I’ll do the work if you are willing to tell me what to do.” He replied.

So, for the next 20 min I discipled him in tire changing 101. This is where you put the jack, this is how you loosen the lugs, step, 3, 4, 5 and so on. In the midst of all that was taking place, I was waiting for the opportunity to talk to this young man about Jesus…….

Back to the beginning. You see as I was driving down the road and saw him standing there talking on his phone animatedly, I knew from his perspective, he was in a crisis that he had no clue on how to get out of. I saw opportunity, 1) to help someone in need, 2) if the Lord created an open door, share Jesus with this precious young man! We were both looking at the same scenario, just coming from two complete different perspectives.

And so it is in all life’s situations. If I am able to have a healthy perspective of what I am currently facing it takes some of the pressure off. After all, Paul says in Rom 8:28-29 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. Having that framework really helps us keep everything in perspective.

On any given day there are opportunities all around you. You just have to have the right perspective to see them. And yes, we did have a marvelous conversation about Jesus!
