Leadership is all about making decisions. The best leader is the one who can make the best decision in the greatest times of uncertainty, when things are unclear. Decisions mark our leadership. Make one wise decisions after another and you will be looked upon as a good leader. Make a series of bad decisions in a row and your leadership rating drops drastically. So our goal is to make wise decisions in the midst of uncertainly that gives others the security and confidence to follow us into greater times of uncertainty where there is even a greater lack of clarity.
If you’re like me, over the years I have had the privilege of making some really good decisions, some fair decisions, and some that were not good at all. But the most important decision you are making right now is the next one. The decision right there in front of you. The one that is hard, the one that effects the most people, the one that others are counting on you to make. This is your time to lead, to move the ball down the field, to take the next shot, to make the tough call, and yes, to take the biggest risk. Sometimes we lack the faith that we need to have in ourselves to make the tough call. As always, the Bible has some clear direction for times like these;
Prov 11:14 Where there is no counsel, the people fall; But in the multitude of counselors there is safety. NKJV
Isa 16:3(a) “Take counsel, execute judgment; NKJV
Jesus has confidence in you that you will make the right decision after you have sought the right counsel. After all, He is the one who placed you in the leadership role in the first place so He is trusting you to make the right call. You need to trust in yourself as well. Get the counsel you need, but then make the call and lead with confidence! Jesus believes in you. It is time for you to believe in yourself!
