Do things of importance. In all of your responsibilities, focus on things that are really important and bring results. There are tons of things that we do that at the end of the day, really don’t change the outcome of life, nor add any quality to it. But there are other things that are intrinsic to success. Focus on the things that really count and strive to remove from your day the things that don’t. Your life may take on new simplicity and I believe it will be richer.

I read an article this week that said that we in America have added so much stress in our lives that it is making us sick. Many suffer from stress related illnesses that can be traced back to high levels of stress.

I can take paragraphs and expound on things that really are not all that important, but we think they are. Suffice it to say that the Holy Spirit knows what is important for you to be doing and He can show you what isn’t. For some it will mean slowing down the pace and giving Him time to speak to your heart. For others it may mean picking up the pace a little and not spending so much time doing nothing. There is not standard for all, it is personal for each of us. That is one reason Paul writes in 2 Cor 10:12 – Oh, don’t worry; we wouldn’t dare say that we are as wonderful as these other men who tell you how important they are! But they are only comparing themselves with each other, using themselves as the standard of measurement. How ignorant! NLT It is not wise to compare ourselves to each other. What keeps you on target can be the very thing that throws me off.

As I said, He knows what is meaningless to you and He is more than capable of communicating it to you if you give him the time to do so. So, seek Him and allow Him to simplify your life. It will be less cluttered and more productive.
