When Jesus prayed in John 17, He not only prayed for those whom the Father had already given Him, He prayed for all of those in the future who would believe that He is the Christ, hence He prayed in advance for you and I!
John 17:20 “I am praying not only for these disciples but also for all who will ever believe in me through their message. 21 I pray that they will all be one, just as you and I are one—as you are in me, Father, and I am in you. And may they be in us so that the world will believe you sent me. (NLT)
And then He made this amazing declaration in verse 22 “I have given them the glory you gave me…….. Consider that for a moment, the King of the universe who said in Isa 42:8 “I am the Lord; that is my name! I will not give my glory to anyone else…. Now through Jesus Christ, has given His glory to you and me that we might be a demonstration of His glory and goodness to all of mankind! What an encouragement knowing that we carry the Glory of the Lord wherever we go and whomever we come in contact with, comes in contact with His glory.
The opportunities are endless and all unfolding before us! Know you are having an impact on those around you and be thankful for the privilege that He has made available to you!
