Remember the faithfulness of the Lord!! Yesterday I was driving to minister in another county and I drove past a road that flooded my mind with a memory of His tremendous faithfulness.

I was only 22-23 years old at the time and was just in the process of purchasing a tractor and trailer. It was my second day of hauling. I  was loaded with 22 tons of salt in a dump trailer to deliver to a state highway facility, a snow storm had just started. We didn’t have GPS’s then and I made a wrong turn and found myself going up a long hill. Realizing that I was on some back road with a loaded 18 wheeler, I attempted to turn around in a long driveway at the top of the hill. Long story short, in my excitement, I made a mistake, jerked the clutch, and I heard a sickening bang. I don’t think I’ll ever forget that sound. I crawled out of the cab and there on the ground lay my driveshaft! It is 4:30 in the afternoon, I am in a place where I know no-one nor any businesses, garage, or repair shop. I am 22, in a loaded 18 wheeler, at the top of a hill on a back road, with a dropped driveshaft and it is snowing like crazy! Augh! Could it get any worse?

Long story short, the Lord provided someone to help me. He got me to a garage right before they closed at 5 PM. The guy said he would come back after supper to weld my driveshaft, if I was able to get it to him, and he would loan me a few tools. But he didn’t offer me much hope that I would be able to tear it apart on the road in the snow, and he made it clear, he was not leaving the shop to help me, I needed to get it to him. He also said this was my lucky day as his was the only shop in the county that even worked on drive shafts, much less welded twisted ones. I made it home that evening and just sat in the truck awhile, amazed at how the Lord worked it all out. I could not believe I actually got it fixed, much less made it home that night in the snow. It was a tremendous faith builder to me as a young man.

What’s your story? What challenge are you facing today that you need to be reminded of the Lord’s faithfulness in the past, to give you the courage and faith to go forward today? The stories are there, you just need to take and moment and think. And when you do, thank the Lord again for His faithfulness of yesteryear and remind your heart that He is faithful today as well.

Remembering His faithfulness yesterday, renews our courage to face today. Ps 37:3 Trust in the Lord, and do good;Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness. NKJV
